The project German-Polish Educational Bridge Neuzelle – Zielona Góra is financed within the framework of the Cross-Border Cooperation Program Poland (Lubuskie Voivodship) – Brandenburg 2007–2013. Its main strategic objectives are to cross borders, reduce disadvantages resulting from the border location and to promote common development of the border area Brandenburg–Poland (Lubusz Voivodship). Specific objectives include the improvement of the infrastructure condition and the environmental situation as well as the development of the economic relations and cooperation between economics and science, and further development of human resources and cross-border cooperation. The program is co-financed with resources from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and national funding. The total Program budget is EUR 146,470,982, of which EUR 124,500,317 come from the ERDF. The participation of ERDF resources can provide both Polish and German partners with up to 85% of the eligible total costs of a project.
The Foundation Stiftung Stift Neuzelle is a leading partner of the German-Polish Education Bridge project. The application for funding was submitted to the Joint Technical Secretariat on 12th September 2009. During its session on 18th January 2011, the Monitoring Committee granted EUR 5.6 million for financing the project.
